VIT Vellore Admission 2025: Highlights
VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Entrance Examination) is conducted annually for students aspiring to get admission to undergraduate engineering programs at the VIT Group of Institutions.
VIT entrance exams are conducted between 21 and 27 April 2025 (tentatively) at designated centres across India and abroad. However, the timeline for the exam may differ depending on the specific test centre.
Things to Know about the VIT Entrance Exam
Every candidate can appear only once for VITEEE-2025. The examination will last 2 hours and 30 minutes.
All the questions are multiple-choice Questions. Each question carries one mark. Therefore, the candidate will score one mark for every right answer and zero marks for every wrong answer. There is no provision for negative markings for wrong answers.
Candidates with a score of ‘0’ in total will not be eligible to participate in the counselling process and will be declared ‘Not Qualified.’
The paper consists of a total of 125 questions segregated into five different sections, namely:
Maths/Biology- 40 questions
Physics- 35 questions
Chemistry- 35 questions
Aptitude- 10 questions
English- 5 questions
The question paper will be only in English. The application and counselling fee is non-refundable. Vellore Institute of Technology Entrance Exam uses a statistical method called equi-percentile to adjust scores and determine ranks, regardless of the specific test form taken.

VIT Vellore Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria
For VIT Vellore registration 2025, every candidate must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
Subject Eligibility
Only PCM/PCMB applicants attempting Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Aptitutde (MPCEA) in the VIT engineering entrance exam 2025 will be eligible for B.Tech programmes.
PCB/PCMB applicants attempting Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Aptitude (BPCEA) in VITEEE 2025 will be eligible for B.Tech programmes with Biology as one of their major subjects.
Age Limit
The applicant’s date of birth must fall on or after 1st July 2003 to be eligible for VITEEE-2005.
The appearing candidate must produce the original date of birth/age certificate at the time of counselling.
Documents such as the SSC/ High School/ X Certificate containing the candidate’s date of birth will be considered authentic.
Nationality
The candidate applying for VIT engineering entrance exams must be a resident/non-resident Indian National/ OCI/ PIO holder.
Foreign applicants studying abroad or those who studied abroad can apply directly through the International application form.
NRI candidates can apply through the NRI application form available under the ‘NRI Category’ on VIT’s official website.
Qualifying Examination
Applicants seeking to appear for the VITEEE-2025 must have either completed or be appearing in 2025 in any one of the following qualifying examinations:
The final 10+2 or intermediate exam must be from a recognized State/central board, such as the CBSE, ICSCE, New Delhi, or any other board accepted by VIT.
A two-year pre-university examination conducted by a recognized university/board.
High School Certificate Examination of the International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva. (Physics & Mathematics - HL, Chemistry - SL) or Cambridge University.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (Cambridge/London/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling recognized by the central board with a minimum of 5 subjects.
Requirements for Qualifying Examination
To be eligible for undergraduate engineering admission in 2025, the applicant must have passed intermediate board exams with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology (PCM/PCB/PCMB).
However, candidates belonging to SC/ST categories receive a relaxation of 10%, i.e. they must score at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the intermediate board exams. The same applies to the following categories as well:
1. Applicants hailing from Northeaster states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Nagaland
2. Applicants from Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir
VITEEE Selection Criteria 2025
VITEEE selection depends on the rank candidates secure through CBT (Computer Based Test) VITEEE 2025.
Candidates holding a rank under 1 lakh are eligible for counselling at all four campuses.

Candidates with a rank above 1 lakh are eligible for counselling only at the VIT-Bhopal and VIT-Ap campuses.
VIT will verify the candidates' eligibility after the candidate has paid the tuition fee on or before the specified timeline.
Candidates must provide the documents required for verification while reporting to the campus or, as and when asked for, by the Office of Admissions.

VITEEE Application Form 2025 Date
Usually, the VITEEE 2025 registration date is from 4 November 2024 to 31 March 2025. However, it is recommended that students do not wait until the last hour, as heavy traffic can create chaos.
VIT Vellore Admission Date 2025
The last date to apply for VITEEE 2025 is March 31, 2025. The exam is more likely to be conducted between April 21 and April 27, 2025. The results will be declared on April 30, 2025. The counselling is supposed to start in May 2025.
